You are invited to a POP UP art show, at the COVE GALLERY, located on historic Rocky Neck, the oldest art colony in the US. Exhibit open two Saturdays only and featuring 15 Gloucester artists.

Work by Kathleen George will feature paintings from the most recent collection using handmade inks from the series Signposts of Memory

From the artist’s statement:

“We went to Centennial Beach in the freezing rain early last spring to collect mussel shells and ocean water. I walked around my neighborhood near Burnham’s Field and collected cigarette butts, uneaten Twizzlers, and a Market Basket circular, all of which made surprisingly usable inks. From my backyard garden I made ink from irises, peonies and daffodils. Then my foraging became more adventurous, and more rooted in memory.”
