Malachite Stone Ink

Christmas 2023.

I purchased small chips of Malachite stone and ground them to a fine powder using electric coffee grinder.

Sifted using a #100 scientific sieve. Alternated sifting and grinding until powder less than 220 microns.

Made liquid gum Arabic solution using warm distilled water and powdered gum.

Added to bowl with stone powder and distilled water and used marble pestle to grind/mix.

Poured into sterilized ink bottle, added wintergreen and clove essential oil and preservative. Needs to be shaken and stirred prior to each use.
