Periwinkle and Snow Ink

March 2024.

Collected Periwinkle flowers and fallen snow.

Separated purple flowers from stems.

Filtered snow using coffee filter.

Combined snow, flowers, alum, salt and vinegar in bullet blender.

Filtered using coffee filter.

Placed in jar and left uncovered on a table out of the sun to concentrate.

Bottled the Periwinkle and Snow Water-Based Ink in 60ml dropper bottle. Added 10 drops liquid gum Arabic (powdered gum, distilled water, honey, glycerin), preservative and 2 drops each of wintergreen and clove essential oils.
